Final choice

I've decided to go with this one as my final shot. I'll need to crop out the clutter in the background but thats no big deal.
I like this shot because its somewhat unconventional and looks sufficiently edgy.

More test shots

I took more test shots, this time one a plane white background. I also got theme to wear band merchandise from a band called Of Mice And Men that tend to show up in magazines like Kerrang. I got them to wear that outfit to try and appeal to a similar audience as Kerrang.

Costume

The clothes I want my actors to wear will be black, or dark colours to fit with the theme of rock music. perhaps even clothes that promote other bands. I'll also have them both in make up to make them look more edgy.

Test Shots

the shadows on the wall may be an issue and the background objects will need to be removed.
I will also need to make sure there is enough space at the sides of the shot for text.

Magazine Planning

For the front cover I have decided to have my two actors against a blank white background, similar to Kerrang.

They are going to wear clothes associated with typical teenagers and rock music to appeal to that kind of audience.


For the double page spread I've decided to have my two actors stand back to back maybe with arms folded to show they have attitude, again in front of a white background with text around them.
They will probably be wearing the same clothes as in the first shot to give the same effect.

My magazine

My magazine will be using Kerrang as a style model because it will target an audience that likes rock music.

I will use Kerrang! as a style model and target a similar audience of 15-35 year old males.
The Pricing will be around the the £2-£3 range so younger audiences can afford it.

for actors I've decided to use my friend Rhiannon, because she fits the scene rather well.
The location for the shot is undetermined.

The title of the magazine will be called Rock Bottom as it fits the criteria pretty well.

Kerrang - Audience

The target audience is 15-35 year old males.

The pricing shows that it's targeted towards a younger audience due to how cheap it is. (£2.20)

The kinds of music that is featured in this magazine are rock bands like Neck Deep, Bring Me The
Horizon, and The Foo Fighters.





The colours are bright, primarily yellow and red, to catch the atention of possable readers.

Contense

I've started work on the contense page by removing the background from Isaac because the original background didn't look good. I'm going to put text on the right side matching the cover page.
The white background might not suit the cover.

Front Cover

I've decided to keep the background because the pastel colours work well with the photo and I've also added text to match the style model.
I might change the last piece of text so it doesn't overlap Isaac. However the white text doesn't work on the pale background  so I will need to change that.

I've fixed the scaling on the photo and removed the background. I've also changed the title of it and made it match the style model.

Actors in my photos

The actor in my photos will be my friend Isaac in year 9.
He is a student in a lower year so it will make people feel the lower years are smart.
I organised to meet him after school at 3PM on Wednesday

Photoshop

today I learnt how to manipulate photos in Photoshop using layers and adding text.

I have also cropped the photo so it obeys the rule of thirds better.

I might include some headlines next as well as a logo to make it look more like a magazine cover.

Planning
